We live in the greatest age of dentistry. Advancements and understanding are increasing at a staggering pace and staying up to date with these changes is critical to the care of our patients. Evidence continues to mount linking the state of the mouth to the overall condition of the body. Providing patients with knowledge and dental care that can change and improve their quality of life is our ultimate goal.
We constantly strive to give our patients the finest dental care possible. Our investment in advanced technology leads to better dental outcomes.Below are the services we provide:
At Gary L. Glasband, DDS Dentistry, we use digital x-rays, which have several advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.
Large on-screen x-rays make patient communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.
Cerec 3D Scans and Milling
The method for taking an impression of your teeth is different, in that instead of taking a putty mold of your tooth, we take a digital impression of it. This is accomplished by dusting your tooth with a reflective powder and scanning it with a handheld wand. Using this method we get an accurate 3D model of your tooth which we use to construct the same-day crown. Learn more about Same Day Inlay and Onlay Restoration
Advanced Cavity Detection
At Gary L. Glasband, DDS Dentistry, we have invested in advanced technology to allow us to detect small cavities before they cause pain or sensitivity and before they can be seen on a radiograph. In order to maintain healthy and attractive teeth, the earliest possible care is essential. The DIAGNOdent aids in the detection of caries. Even the very small cavities can be detected with this technology, enabling you to take the proper action.
An intra-oral camera is a small, toothbrush shaped/sized camera. The video taken with it is projected onto a monitor that we adjust so you may view the feed. We frequently use inter-oral cameras to show patients issues that have arisen within their mouth, since it is not easy to view much of your own mouth using a mirror. With the camera we are able to show you in high detail what is going on in your mouth.
Sonic fill technology ensures that we are not leaving voids in restorations, and is a much more efficient way to treat decay. This means less time in the dental chair, and accurately placed fillings.
This handheld screening device is used to identify whether there are any indications of oral cancer. Using a blue flourescent light, abnormal and cancerous areas will turn bright green under the light, while normal areas remain dark.
The Isolite® Illuminated Dental Isolation System is used to provide comfort to our patients while assisting our team with continuous hands-free vacuum suction and shadowless intraoral illumination.
